Each player will assume the role of one of six major animal classes—mammal, reptile, bird, amphibian, arachnid, or insect. Each begins the game more or less in a state of natural balance in relation to one another. But that won’t last: It is indeed "survival of the fittest". Through wily action pawn placement, players will strive to become dominant on as many different terrain tiles as possible in order to claim powerful card effects. Players will also want to propagate their individual species in order to earn victory points for their particular animal. Players will be aided in these endeavors via speciation, migration, and adaptation actions, among others.
In recent years, the Sun has become increasingly unstable, to the point where experts claim it could go supernova at any moment. The various inhabitants of the planets in this solar system are launching one last effort to save themselves, which involves building a final Ark to propel a small selection of their people into deep space. This requires a great deal of energy, and in a final ironic twist, the only source of such great energy is the dying star itself. In the process of extracting and transmitting the energy required to save themselves, they will be compounding the instability of the Sun and hastening the end of their worlds.
Sol: Last Days of a Star is a board game for one to five players where each player represents a different planetary effort to transmit as much energy from the Sun back to their Ark so they can to escape the solar system before the Sun explodes!
Don't let the cute art fool you, Root is a strategic and mean asymmetrical war game. Pick one of 10 completely unique factions as you vie for control of clearings. The game can be played from 3-6 players (4 recommended) and the first to 30 victory points wins.
Unfathomable is pretty much Battlestar Galactica 2nd ed, a semi co-op game where the players are working together to guide a cruise through the dangerous waters of the Atlantic. However, some players are secretly cultists and hybrids that are manipulating in the shadows to make the cruise sink.
I will be adding the expansion From the Abyss to it, which adds new cool enemies for the cultists and new allies for the Humans.
New players are welcome, but please try to watch a "Learn how to play" video for the base game so the rule explanation can be more an overview rather than a full explanation.
A 4 player, worker placement game by Lacerda. Go between the surface and orbit of Mars and try and build a sustainable habitat so that the earth no longer needs to send supplies to make Mars livable for all. Win by getting the most points.
