Finally, the Titans achieved the ultimate victory, banishing the souls of the seven demons to the void and completely destroying their bodies. As they departed, to prevent the demons from returning, the Titans left behind one artifact for each of the world's five major native races. If the demons were to return, these artifacts would be the key to saving the world.

Sagrada - Learn to Play FULL
Friday March 14, 2025 21:00 - 23:00 PDT
Draft dice and use the tools-of-the-trade in Sagrada to carefully construct your stained glass window masterpiece.

In more detail, each player builds a stained glass window by building up a grid of dice on their player board. Each board has some restrictions on which color or shade (value) of die can be placed there. Dice of the same shade or color may never be placed next to each other. Dice are drafted in player order, with the start player rotating each round, snaking back around after the last player drafts two dice. Scoring is variable per game based on achieving various patterns and varieties of placement...as well as bonus points for dark shades of a particular hidden goal color.

Special tools can be used to help you break the rules by spending skill tokens; once a tool is used, it then requires more skill tokens for the other players to use them.

The highest scoring window artisan wins!

Netrunner - Learn to Play LIMITED
Saturday March 15, 2025 09:30 - 17:00 PDT
This is a learn to play event!

Netrunner is a two-player asymmetric card game set in a dystopian future where four mega corporations control almost every aspect of daily life. Legendary hackers known as “runners” aim to fight the corps’ influence by hacking into their servers and preventing them from advancing their sinister agendas.

In Netrunner, one player takes the role of the Corp, whose tools include corporate assets and defensive programs called “ice”. Using tools like these and the element of surprise, the Corp aims to advance their agendas to completion. Across the table, the Runner‘s objective is to infiltrate the Corp’s servers and steal their agendas, and they’ll draw on their resources, specialty hardware, and programs to do so. Of course, the Runner is no threat if they’re dead, so a canny Corp may also attempt to “flatline” their opponent through damage—while the Runner’s secondary path to victory is stalling the Corp long enough that they run out of opportunities.

Can the Runner see through the Corp’s bluffs and emerge victorious from their netspace siege, or will the Corp tighten their grip upon the world? Find out by playing Netrunner.

BattleTech Learn to Play - Grinder by Catalyst LIMITED
Saturday March 15, 2025 10:00 - 11:00 PDT
Join us for a Battletech Grinder event, an event which historically is the most popular Battletech event the Catalyst Demo Team runs at GenCon, Origins and many other conventions around the world.

The Battletech Grinder is a casual all-day event and is great for all ability levels where players only pilot one mech at a time. Due to the nature of the event, players can join in, or drop out at any time without disrupting the event, so if you only want to play for a couple of hours and then move on to something else, it's not an issue.

The general idea of the Grinder is that players start with a simple, randomly-assigned small mech that uses basic weapons and rules in a free-for-all style gladiatorial match of Battlemech mayhem. When their mech is destroyed they get randomly-assigned a bigger, better mech that has slightly more complicated weapons and rules, which help ramp the player's learning of the rules and tactics of Battletech in a manageable way, and then thrown back into the carnage! This way new players are introduced to the vast rules of tabletop Battletech over time. Once a player has advanced to the highest class of mech, should they get destroyed again, they start the cycle all over again with a new randomly-assigned basic mech, continuing on in the never-ending slaughterfest.

All supplies will be provided by the Catalyst Demo Team, including miniatures, maps/terrain, dice, record sheets and pencils.

The tournament format ensures a friendly yet competitive atmosphere, with warm-up and training sessions beforehand to help everyone get started. Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or new to tabletop games, we’d love to see you join in the fun!

  • Format: Each tournament will accommodate 16 teams (32 participants). Players can sign up in pairs or individually—if they register solo, we’ll pair them with another solo player.
  • Duration: Each tournament will last 3 hours. This includes 1 hour prior to the start for warm-ups and to teach participants how to play.
  • No Prior Experience Required: Teddies vs Monsters is an easy-to-learn game, and we’ll guide players through the rules during the warm-up hour before the tournament starts.

BattleTech Learn to Play - Grinder by Catalyst LIMITED
Saturday March 15, 2025 15:00 - 16:00 PDT

Keyforge Learn to Play FULL
Sunday March 16, 2025 12:30 - 13:30 PDT
KeyForge is a two-player battling card game from Richard Garfield, the creator of Magic: The Gathering. So how do you build your deck? That's the neat part, you don't! Each deck comes prebuilt and ready to play, making it easy to learn the game, and the cards that each deck contain are procedurally generated in a way so that no two decks are the same!

In this learn-to-play session, I will be teaching everyone how to play with some time afterwards for some practice games. Each participant gets the following:
- 2 FREE KeyForge decks from a variety of sets (both opened/not sealed but still in shrink wrap)
- 2 set of tokens (enough for 2 players)
- 1 instructions manual

Come back for the Sealed KeyForge Tournament at 1:30 pm, which includes a FREE sealed (unopened) KeyForge deck for you to use in the event and keep! And there will be prizes!!

Decks provided by this event are on a limited supply so priority will be given to those who signed up online and then on a first-come-first-serve basis.
