At the edge of the galaxy the shadow of the Empire is cast in twisting, sinister, and perhaps unfamiliar forms. When a small community’s generosity is taken advantage of by corporate interests, their quiet life is thrown into turmoil. Their tradition of hospitality and care drives them to welcome the strangers whose space station home was destroyed by an asteroid strike. No one asked for the polluting and disruptive mining operation, but the townsfolk have little influence over the corporate juggernaut. And as if those problems aren’t enough, there are rumors of bandits causing havoc on the outskirts of town. Caught between a greedy mining corporation, roaming bandits, and refugees in need, the locals of Belska are overwhelmed and struggling. Can anyone ease the burden on this small community or will the farthest tendrils of the Empire’s influence overcome them?
